Ongoing community engagement

Co-coordinator of the Inter-Experimental LHC Machine Learning (IML) Working Group, on behalf of the LHCb experiment
The IML WG is the general AI forum at CERN, with more than 1000 researchers following its activities.

Steering board member of the European Coalition for AI in Fundamental Physics (EuCAIF)

EuCAIF is an European initiative for advancing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Fundamental Physics. This initiative has been endorsed by ECFA, NuPECC and APPEC.
Experience in large international collaborations
I have been part of the LHCb experiment, an international collaboration of more than 1000 researchers, for more than 10 years. Apart from having worked with many different research teams composed of a handful of researchers each, I have held four different coordination roles inside LHCb, concerning groups between of between 15 and 200 researchers. Besides working with physicists, I have directly collaborated with and supervised the research activities of data scientists, computer scientists, ML engineers and mathematicians.

Experience in organising conferences and workshops
Besides organising international events connected with research in particle physics, I have participated in the organisation of the following ML-related conferences & workshops.
1st European AI for Fundamental Physics Conference (EuCAIFCon)
Amsterdam, 2024. More than 200 participants. See the website of the event.
6th Inter‑experiment Machine Learning Workshop
CERN, 2024. More than 400 participants. See the website of the event.
